About Kate and Run Moor & Mountain

My name is Kate and I am happiest when I am running, walking and climbing in the mountains and moors of the UK.

I am an experienced ultrarunner and am excited to be able to share my love for running and the outdoors with other people.  As a UESCA certified ultrarunning coach and UK Athletics Fell Running Coach my approach is underpinned by research but focuses on the athlete as an individual.  I am a qualified Mountain Leader and NNAS tutor with extensive experience of teaching hill skills and navigation.

I started competing in running events in 2008, celebrating my 30th birthday with a mountain marathon. Over the past 17 years I have completed dozens of ultra distance races as well as many of my own challenges.  In 2018 I completed a Bob Graham Round and in April 2021 ran an unsupported round of Joss Naylor’s beautiful Lakes, Meres and Waters route.

I’m definitely a normal person with a very ordinary life!

That includes my fair share of ‘failure’ and working through it.   I just love being & exploring outdoors, sometimes it’s the challenge of something beyond my comfort zone, but mostly it’s just for the joy of wild places.
